The Briard is a large breed of dog, one of many herding breeds. The Briard has been known for some centuries..The Briard can be any of several different solid colors or lighter colors with darker or light ears and face.Their long coat requires an extensive amount of grooming. Briards come in a variety from different colors and the ones with lighter colors are often mistaken for haystacks.

It has a coat that can be described as follows: Corded Coat and Harsh and Rough. It tends to have the following shedding characteristics and/or grooming requirements: Average Shedding and Frequent Grooming.

Health Issues:

Generally healthy, but some lines are prone to PRA, cataracts and hip dysplasia. Briards, like other large-chested breeds, can experience bloat and stomach torsion. The condition can come on very fast and, if left untreated, is fatal. you should buy a puppy from a reputable Briard breeder.
