Temperamento

Dogo Argentino perro

The Dogo Argentino is a highly intelligent, sensible and stable breed. While gentle with its family, it is ruthless with its prey and so should be considered potentially dangerous.

It makes an excellent guard dog. Socialization and obedience training at an early age is a must. It does not seem to understand harsh treatment, force training or an unpleasant attitude in humans and can become stubborn when exposed to such behavior.

Problemas de Saluds

Problemas de Salud

Deafness can be an occasional issue. Due to their short, white coat skin allergies are fairly common and allergy tests will need to be taken if rashes occur. Hip dysplasia can be a rare problem. To help prevent the chance of hip or elbow dysplasia developing make sure your dog is on a healthy, well proportioned diet, and avoid excessive running and jumping while still a puppy as this can be hard on the developing joints.

To make sure that you get a healthy puppy, you should buy a Dogo Argentino puppy from a reputable Dogo Argentino breeder.

Condiciones de Vida

Dogos will do okay in an apartment if it is sufficiently exercised but would prefer to have at least an average-sized yard. Be sure to bring the Dogo inside when temperatures drop below freezing, their short coat means they do not tolerate cold temperatures very well.
