Acerca de Dachshund Raza
El Teckel — que literalmente significa “perro tejón” en alemán — se desarrolló en Alemania ya en el siglo XV. Los criadores dieron forma a este perro con un propósito claro: un cuerpo alargado, patas cortas y fuertes, y una piel suelta y protectora para perseguir tejones dentro de túneles subterráneos. Valiente, incansable y criado para trabajar solo, no era un perro pequeño cualquiera.
Sus habilidades de caza iban mucho más allá de los tejones. Los Teckel también rastreaban zorros, conejos y ciervos heridos, e incluso se sabe que manadas de ellos enfrentaban jabalíes. Para el siglo XIX, la realeza europea ya había acogido a la raza como compañero del hogar y la transición de feroz cazador a querido perro de familia ya estaba en marcha.
Hoy en día, el Teckel se encuentra entre las razas de compañía más populares del mundo. Se adapta tanto a apartamentos como a hogares familiares. Personas primerizas, quienes viven en la ciudad y familias con niños mayores suelen amar a esta raza por su naturaleza leal, juguetona y adaptable.
