Dear Eddie White Wonder (now renamed Whiskey by my young son) arrived in very good condition. He didn’t seem stressed by the journey and settled in quickly. He cried for what was left of Friday night, but went to bed without a sound on Saturday and Sunday. He is already good friends with our German Shepherd, is stealing the food from his plate, and has learnt how to climb the stairs when he wants to escape. He is an absolute pleasure, and we are delighted to have him.

Acerca de West Highland White Terrier Raza
El West Highland White Terrier tiene sus orígenes en las ásperas Tierras Altas de Escocia, donde fue cuidadosamente criado a finales del siglo XIX. El coronel Edward Donald Malcolm de Poltalloch es ampliamente reconocido por establecer la raza, seleccionando solo perros completamente blancos para evitar que fueran confundidos con presas durante las cacerías.
Originalmente criado para cazar zorros, tejones y ratas bajo terrenos rocosos, el Westie se ganó su reputación como un perro valiente e incansable bajo tierra. Su cuerpo pequeño pero robusto le permitía escabullirse por túneles estrechos, mientras que su temperamento de terrier lo mantenía concentrado, incluso al enfrentarse a animales mucho más grandes.
El West Highland White Terrier es un perro compacto y bien equilibrado, con una altura aproximada de 25–28 cm a la cruz y un peso de 7–10 kg. Su cabeza redonda, ojos oscuros bien espaciados con borde negro y orejas pequeñas y erguidas le dan una apariencia siempre alerta. Sus patas traseras fuertes y el pecho profundo revelan claramente su herencia como un trabajador incansable bajo tierra.
