Dear La Sheika & Gabor, It’s been nearly 2 month, since Karma (new name is “Lumi”) arrived Beijing. Everything went well, and this is a very lovely and naughty boy. Dear Shane, Thank you for reminding us of Winston’s 3rd Birthday today – coinciding with Fathers’ Day. Please see below a few shots taken in the last couple of days. Winston is our joy and has accompanied our daughter Maya (now 16) through recent and persistent Covid-lockdowns, keeping her happy & sane. Winston has a strong personality and demands a lot of love (which is freely given!). We exercise him 2x day and he has some professional exercising too. He didn’t have a haircut recently as we love his beatnik look plus due to Covid lockdown his beloved Ashani (dog concierge) couldn’t visit. Have a great Sunday and thanks for getting in touch! Über die Airedale Terrier Rasse
Kaum eine Rasse trägt so viel Geschichte mit sich wie der Airedale Terrier. Im Tal des River Aire in Yorkshire, England, formten Fabrikarbeiter diesen Hund in den 1850er Jahren nach ihren Bedürfnissen: Er sollte Otter und Wasserratten am Ufer jagen, Kaninchen über Land verfolgen und nachts das Heim bewachen.
Als der Kennel Club of England die Rasse 1886 offiziell anerkannte, trug der Airedale seinen Spitznamen längst mit Stolz: König der Terrier. Im Ersten Weltkrieg diente er als Meldehund, Sanitätshund, Wachposten und Scout — ein lebendiger Beweis für Intelligenz, Mut und außergewöhnliche Ausdauer.
Heute glänzt der Airedale als loyaler Familienhund und vielseitiger Arbeitshund, der in manchen Ländern noch immer in der Polizeiarbeit eingesetzt wird, sich aber genauso gerne auf Wanderungen mit aktiven Familien begibt. Diese Rasse belohnt einen erfahrenen, selbstsicheren Halter, der konsequente Führung mit Geduld und Humor verbindet.
