El Cavapoo, también conocido como Cavadoodle o Cavoodle, es un cruce diseñado intencionalmente entre el Cavalier King Charles Spaniel y un Caniche Miniatura o Toy. Los criadores australianos comenzaron a desarrollar esta mezcla en la década de 1990, con el objetivo de crear un perro compañero pequeño, amigable y con muy poca muda, ideal para familias con alergias.

El objetivo de crear el Cavapoo era claro: combinar el corazón cálido del Cavalier con la inteligencia del Caniche. A diferencia de las razas de trabajo, el Cavapoo nació únicamente para hacer compañía.
