Maltipom Rassebeschreibung
The Maltipom is a mix breed; a cross of the Pomeranian and the Maltese. Their size can vary slightly but is generally between 3 and 9 pounds in weight, and 8 – 12 inches in height. If the Maltese gene is dominant they will be on the larger size of this.
Most Maltipoms have the face and body of the Pomeranian, with the long flowing coat of the Maltese. Despite their cuddly, delicate appearance, they are actually a sturdily built and agile breed. The Maltipom can come in a variety of colours and patches depending on which parents genes are dominant.
Temperament
The Maltipom has been bred specifically for their great personality. This is a friendly, happy and very affectionate breed. They are usually very good and playful with children and make a fine family dog.
This breed is also quite intelligent, and generally easy to train. This makes the Maltipom a reasonably good choice for a first time dog owner. Socialization early is key to ensure that they do not develop the dominance associated with ‘small dog syndrome’

white, black, orange, red, cream, and any combination of these colors
Mantel
They have a long, flowing coat of straight, soft hair. This can be cut short to resemble the Pomeranian. They are low shedding and good for allergy sufferers.
Gesundheitsprobleme
Patellar luxation, and eye issues are occasional problems. Maltipoms may also be at risk of respiratory problems including asthma. To minimize the risk of your Maltipomdeveloping any hereditary health issues, you should buy a Maltipom puppy from a reputable Maltese breeder.
Lebensumfeld
The Malitpon is suitable for life in an apartment, or a home with a garden. They do not do well left alone for too long, and are very much an indoor breed.
