Korean Jindo Dog dog

The Korean Jindo is a medium sized, proud, spitz type dog. They are squarely built, with a deep chest. They have a strong back, and are well muscled. They range is size from 18 – 22 inch, and 15 – 23 kg in weight.

This is a double coated breed, which can come in a range of colors. They are long faced, with a well developed jaw. Typically the male has a larger head, while the females are more fox like in their features.

The Korean Jindo is a smart, active and capable breed. They are fairly high energy, and need to be part of an active family. They love walks and runs, and are a good hiking breed. They are famed high jumpers too.

They make great companion dogs, and are incredibly famous for their faithfulness. They tend to attach themselves to one person, and will be devoted to them. This is not a breed that is good to be left alone for long periods.

Coat

Has a double coat. Undercoat is soft, dense, light in colour, but sufficient to support the outercoat. Outercoat is stiff and stands somewhat off body. Comparing with the hair of the body, the hair on head, legs and ears is shorter and the hair on the neck, withers, back and rump is longer. The hair on tail and back of thighs is longer than on the rest of the body.
