Dred - Our Caucasian Mountain Dog
Woodburn, United States
Owner’s Review
Hi Lasheika,
Sorry it took so long to reply.
I can’t believe Dred is already 1 year old. You can’t believe the looks I get when I say I have a 160 pound one year old puppy. And he is still very much a puppy. I got him mainly as a companion for my 86 year old father who has always loved big dogs. We lost our 13 year old Great Dane a few years ago and my father has wanted another dog ever since. My sister and I both agree that getting Dred was the best thing we could have done for our father. He dotes on him every day.
Dred is VERY smart and a super picky eater (which is funny because I read the breed eats pretty much anything). He is very lovable to everyone that is supposed to be on the property but super protective against anyone who isn’t allowed.
He has a great memory. My sister came to visit in July and they bonded. She came back to visit in January and he remembered her and was super excited to see her.
Overall…I only have wonderful things to say about Dred…even if I do have to hand feed him half the time because he is so picky. Except for treats…he loves treats…which my dad gives him all the time.
I have hundreds of pictures of him…here are several I picked out.
On Dred’s birthday it snowed for the first time since we had him…he just took it in stride. Given his fur…he doesn’t like to be inside much during the winter…that will change again when summer comes and he stays in the house where it is cooler.
